LATEST UPDATE (March 7): The schedule has been recently changed. An additional contest has been added on Saturday, March 20. Entries for this contest will be available for purchase at noon ET on Tuesday, March 9. The contest will offer eight (8) qualifying spots, with a maximum of 200 entries at the usual one-day entry fees of $400/per (max two per person). Moreover, the April dates have been changed to one-day contests, and maximum entries for the May 15 (Preakness Day) contest have been increased. Players registered for the March 13 contest will be sent an email notification when selections are open on the evening of Friday, March 12.

This site offers players the chance to qualify online to the Daily Racing Form/NTRA National Handicapping Championship (NHC), the preeminent, industry-recognized major Championship of tournament horseplaying. And by playing, you’ll be contributing directly to the NHC purse, making the event even more lucrative!

For the 2011 event (comprising qualifying contests from 2010), the total purse for the National Handicapping Championship is expected to reach $1 Million. It is anticipated that a total of approximately 300 players will compete in the 2011 NHC finals.

Entry fees vary depending on the format of contests run throughout the year. See the How to Play section for more information on the format of the contests. It is important for players to get acquainted with contest play and official rules before participating in NHCQualify contests.
